Many of the Psalms recall the past, either to bring to mind God's awesome deeds or Israel's failures. A few examples: God's creative work is reflected in Psalm 8 and 104; the period of time from Mount Sinai to the conquest of Canaan is vividly remembered in Psalm 68; the dismal rebellions of Israel in the desert are recounted in Psalm 78 and 106; and God's faithfulness to Abraham through Moses and Aaron is celebrated in Psalm 105.
